Subject: Welcome to Fall 2020
Dear GGC students,
It is a pleasure to welcome you to campus for the beginning of the fall 2020 semester. We have spent the past several months preparing for your return and have put a number of procedures in place to ensure you have a safe experience while you are on campus.
When you arrive, you will see that masks are required in all GGC buildings and social distancing protocols are in place. You will notice all the “Grizzly Strong” signage with important information to help you navigate in our current environment. The hallways are divided to remind you to safely keep your distance and to be aware of space. Hand sanitizer stations are located in all high-traffic areas, and you are encouraged to use them often. Each classroom is labeled with a maximum occupancy limit to allow for adequate social distancing. Cleaning will occur throughout the day and deep cleaning will take place in the evening and every weekend. I ask you to do your part to keep yourself, your classmates and the faculty and staff safe and healthy. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and communicate with your professor to stay current with your course work. I encourage you to seek medical attention if necessary.
While these are extraordinary times, these are also exciting times. You have the opportunity to excel in your coursework despite the challenges around COVID-19 that limit your in-person interactions with other students and your professors. Smaller settings enable you to work in smaller groups and build strong bonds that will carry over beyond this time in our lives.
I have said before that Grizzlies are resilient and applaud you for your commitment to your college education. While we may continue to face difficulties, it has been and will always be our priority to keep you safe and to provide the resources you need to be successful. Our Public Health FAQs are continuously updated about campus spaces, classes, COVID-19 health/exposure, CARES Act, commencement, library, psychological, technology and tuition/fees resources.
Together, we are “Grizzly Strong.”
