Course Reserve

Professors may place course materials on reserve for student use. Course reserve items are held at the Circulation Desk. Checkout periods vary, but most are for two hours and are in-library use only. Please note, course reserve items that are turned in late will incur fines. Review the guide to course reserves to find out what is available on course reserve.

Borrowing Information

Students may check out up to 15 GGC items at a time. You must have your Claw Card or a valid, government-issued photo ID to check out items. Loan periods are as follows:

  • GGC Books: 28 days, 2 renewals
  • GGC Popular Fiction/Nonfiction Collection: 14 days, 1 renewal
  • GGC DVDs: 5 days, 1 renewal
  • GIL Express Books: 28 days, 2 renewals
  • Laptops/iPads/Other: View more about lending technology.

GIL Express

Eligible material not available in the GGC collection may be requested from libraries at other USG institutions through the resource sharing initiative GIL Express. Use the GIL-Find Catalog to search for items and log into your library account to enable requests. Please note, articles cannot be requested through GIL Express – see Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan

Materials not available at the Kaufman Library or through GIL Express may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. Please ensure an item is not available at GGC or within the USG system before submitting a request.

Research Help

Research help is available at the Reference Desk during library hours. The Reference Desk is located on the second floor of the main library. You may also contact a Reference Librarian at 678.407.5064 or through Ask a Librarian.

Students must use funds loaded on their Claw Card to print or photocopy in library areas. Printing costs 10 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color. Photocopies cost 10 cents per page (black and white only).

Students also have the option to scan items and send to their email for free. Scanning directions are provided at each photocopier. In addition, the main library has an HP Scanner available for student use. For assistance with printing or the HP Scanner, please ask at the Information Commons Helpdesk.
