The Paralegal Certification Program is designed for students seeking to enter the paralegal profession upon their graduation from GGC.
- Designed to meet the guidelines set forth by the American Bar Association
- Hands-on training with industry-standard case management software used in the legal field.
- Courses designed to develop legal documents for showcasing at job interviews and building professional portfolios
- Internship requirement that gives students hands-on experience in a law firm, and connects students with area attorneys, court clerks and other judicial offices
Political science majors, concentrating in legal studies, who complete the paralegal courses as part of their course work automatically receive the paralegal certification upon graduation. The designated paralegal courses can also be used as general electives toward other political science concentrations and other majors.
Students planning to enter law school can also benefit from the program, introducing them to the type of material covered in some of law courses.
Students who complete the required 18 credit hours with a minimum grade of "C" in each course will be awarded their certification when they graduate from GGC with a bachelor's in any major.
