Student Center

Student Center (Building E)

The Student Center is the hub of student life on GGC’s campus. Containing student lounges, game rooms, meeting rooms and offices, the Student Center is located on the main quad between the Kaufman Library & Learning Center and student housing. The large venue of interactive space, which can be divided into smaller rooms, is the marquee of meeting and event space at the College. With built-in, state-of-the-art technology, this area seats nearly 650 people and will support lectures, large meetings, conferences and other events. A large pre-function space is adjacent to the interactive space as is a beautiful outdoor terrace. The Student Center also houses the GGC dining hall, seating 700, and an enhanced Barnes and Noble Bookstore.

The commanding signature building at Georgia Gwinnett College is like no other on Georgia’s college and university campuses. Its 21st Century design embodies the spirit of innovation, creativity and inspiration that Georgia Gwinnett pursues in its stated mission and as it cultivates its future graduates.

The firm of internationally renowned architect John Portman designed the College’s most imposing structure to house senior administrative offices, board rooms and conference rooms, as well as academic classrooms. The signature building serves as a symbolic expression of leadership and learning.

This integrated, technologically-advanced classroom building houses the classrooms, laboratories and faculty offices that are critical to the life of the institution. “Students and faculty in motion” is a good description of these learning environments and gathering areas. It is here where students’ minds are stretched, ideas are explored and challenges are overcome.

The student services building is the first stop in a student’s entrance into the world of Georgia Gwinnett College. A one-stop-shop, students can take care of school-related business – including applying for college, paying their tuition and fees, talking with financial aid counselors, checking grades and requesting transcripts. Prominently located on the corner of Collins Industrial and Collins Hill Road, the student services building serves as the welcoming center for the campus and the community.

Wellness and Recreation Center (Building F)

Through the College’s programs and facilities, which support balanced development for the GGC community, Georgia Gwinnett College promotes and develops healthy lifestyle choices. Benefits of participation include the application of leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management, communication and social skills. The faculty and staff at Georgia Gwinnett strive to provide the safest and most enjoyable services through the development of leadership, good communication and teamwork. A wide array of activities and workout options are offered to suit a variety of individual preferences, including the cardio room with more than 30 pieces of equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, stair steppers and stationary bikes.

The 100,000 square-foot building houses the School of Health and Sciences. The building features cutting-edge education in its high-tech instructional areas, wet and dry labs, lecture halls, computer labs, x-ray rooms, ICU and nursing units and multi-media learning centers to integrate hands-on, simulated training with challenging classroom content. As the fourth leading employer in Georgia, eight of the state’s fastest growing professions are in the health field. The Gwinnett Medical Center, located just minutes from the Georgia Gwinnett College campus serves as a partner in the development of well-educated, well-trained health professional serving a growing and diverse population in Gwinnett.

Student Housing

As of the fall 2010, more than 1,000 students now call Georgia Gwinnett College “home.” Each residence hall apartment houses 4-12 students and includes a kitchen, multiple bathrooms and living areas. Residence directors and advisors live in designated quarters throughout the residential areas and each building features a seminar room where students can hold activities – fully integrating residence life into academic life.
