In March 2022, Ms. Darcie Johnson joined the Advancement team at Georgia Gwinnett College. As director of development, Johnson is responsible for building external engagement and philanthropic support for the college.
Prior to Georgia Gwinnett College, Johnson was the director of Launch Pointe, the Clyde Strickland Center of Career Experience, at Gwinnett Technical College for two years where she was directly responsible for fundraising for the center. She also served as the manager of the annual fund with the Gwinnett Tech Foundation for four years. Johnson supported the overall fundraising efforts including increasing philanthropic support from advisory council members, recruiting program support from business leaders and securing support for scholarships.
Johnson has been an active volunteer with nonprofit organizations for over thirty years. Currently, she is the chair of the Gwinnett Giving Girls, a non-profit supporting women and children in Gwinnett County, and board chair for Navigate Recovery, serving individuals and families impacted by addiction. She’s also earned a UGA grant writing certificate and is a previous graduate of Glance Gwinnett and Gwinnett 101: Citizen’s Academy.
