Do you want to participate in a community-based project during GGC's spring break?

Spend a week learning about and addressing a community issue and reflect on your experience through daily activities like journaling, video diaries and group discussions.

  • Enhance your knowledge of social issues.
  • Gain new perspectives by learning about others’ lived experiences.
  • Apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Understand your role as a change agent in our society.

The Alternative Break Program seeks to empower the individual through intentional service, personal growth, leadership, and genuine human connection. The program prioritizes allyship with community partners in order to more deeply understand the social issues of our world and inspire a more empathetic and socially active individual.

Past Travels and Activities

During past breaks, Grizzlies have traveled to places like Orlando and New Orleans, focusing on sustainability and human care. We’ve addressed homelessness and poverty, cleared land at local parks and beautified playgrounds, prepared meals for needy families, and so much more.
