Who needs to complete?

  • New first year students
  • Dual Enrollment students
  • Transfer students

All incoming degree-seeking students must complete the training. This includes new first-year students, freshmen with transfer credit (AP and from another institution), Dual Enrollment students, and transfer students. 

Students who are not required to complete the program may also access the courses and information.

Completed training at another institution?

Students who have completed AlcoholEdu® for College, Haven – Understanding Sexual Assault, and/or Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates at another college may have their records submitted and reviewed to determine if the health and safety training requirement has been satisfied. These records must be submitted directly from an official at your previous institution to healthandsafety@ggc.edu. Records submitted from students are not acceptable. Students will be notified if the submitted records satisfy the requirement or if training completion is necessary. Students who are unable to obtain records from their previous institution will be required to complete the AlcoholEdu® for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates.

Tips?

  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities. You may use the GGC Library resources.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use a web browser released within the previous two years. Firefox or Google Chrome are recommended.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings.
  • The course may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.
  • Should you experience problems, technical support is available 24/7 and can be accessed from the “Help” link within the course.

Failed AlcoholEdu® for College?

Failure to achieve at least 70% will result in a hold placed on your ability to register for and/or drop classes. Multiple attempts are allowed until you score at least 70% correct.

Deadline passed?

Students who miss the deadline will receive email notification that the Registrar’s office has placed a hold on your registration. You may not register for and/or drop classes until the hold is lifted.

Hold removal? 

Holds are processed and released within three business days after completing Part 1 for both AlcoholEdu® for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. Holds cannot be temporarily released to register for or drop courses or to withdrawal from GGC. Completion of the training is required.

Email needs to be updated?

Your GGC email address is required. If you registered your EverFi account or completed the health and safety training using an email address other than your assigned GGC email, your hold removal will not be processed. Follow the steps below to update your email address: 

  1. Log in at https://platform.everfi.net/registration/login with the email address and password you previously created.
  2. Click on the “Welcome, (your name)” greeting at the top right hand side of the screen.
  3. Select “My Profile.”
  4. Select “Edit Personal Information.”
  5. Change your email address to your assigned GGC email address.
  6. Select “Save.”

Proof of completion needed for health and safety training?

Students may view and print their records for the AlcoholEdu® for College, Haven – Understanding Sexual Assault, and/or Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates by logging into their EverFi account and selecting the “Course Progress” box featured on all courses. This report will display the completion date of each module and all quiz/test scores.

Enrolled GGC students may request their records by completing a records request form.

  1. Log into MyGGC.
  2. Select “Students” at the top of the page.
  3. Select “Registrar’s Office” under the “Students” tab.
  4. Select “Request your Health and Safety training records” – it is the last link under “Registrar Forms.”
  5. Complete the requested information and select “Submit.”

Please note that records are only kept one year after the last semester of enrollment. Students who have been away from GGC for more than a year will either need to log into their EverFi account to retrieve their records or contact EverFi at 1-866-384-9622.
