Grizzly Orientation (GO) is designed to make your transition to GGC smooth, exciting and stress-free. Whether you’re a new student or a supporting guest, this FAQ page covers a lot of need-to-know information.
Are you ready? Let’s GO!
All new students must attend Grizzly Orientation (in-person or virtual) before registering for classes. The Grizzly Orientation hold is removed once your attendance is confirmed.
You’ll register for your first semester during your scheduled Grizzly Orientation.
Yes! No other holds will prevent you from attending orientation. However, we recommend reviewing instructions on how to resolve your immunization, final transcript and mentor hold to avoid delays in the future.
Verify your residency status through Grizzly Den within Banner. Learn more about residency requirements and what to do if you placed as an out-of-state student, but do not believe you should be. It’s not required but strongly recommended. GGC offers a separate, full guest experience at no extra cost to help your support system learn how to guide you through your college journey.
- $15 deposit due at registration
- $75 charged to your student account (can be paid with financial aid)
All payments are made online via the registration portal using a credit or debit card. Cash, checks and transfers are not accepted.

Email disabilityservices [at] ggc.edu (disabilityservices[at]ggc[dot]edu) for accessibility accommodations at least three business days before your orientation. Include your full name, orientation date and student ID.
Log in to your MyGGC Task List and click the "Completed" tab. Find “My Orientation Reservation,” and select a new date. Be sure to click save.
There is no extra fee to change your date.
Not exactly. Orientation is required for enrollment, while campus tours are optional. A campus tour is available at the end of orientation, or you can schedule a campus tour online.
Yes. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes – expect to be active!
- Breakfast: not provided
- Lunch: free for students and registered guests who stay with their group
- Snacks and drinks: complimentary water, coffee and snacks throughout the day
- Optional retail dining is also available on campus
Plan to stay until 3 p.m.
- Check-in: 7 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
- Orientation starts promptly at 8 a.m.
No paperwork is required to attend. A government-issued ID is needed to receive your Claw Card (student ID).
- Wear comfy clothes and walking shoes
- Bring a jacket (some rooms are chilly)
- Bring a phone charger
- Pack light – we’ll provide materials
- Bring snacks or meds if needed
- Get excited – this is your official welcome!

Email reminders start about two weeks before your session. You’ll receive specific details – like parking or your virtual link – 24 hours before orientation.
Yes! Each student must register and pay separately using their own GGC account so we can track attendance and prepare accordingly.
No. Walk-ins are not accepted. You must register ahead of time to attend.
Yes. Grizzly Orientation covers important info specific to new college students that is not included in Dual Enrollment sessions.
