Shining a Light on Microplastics

Nolberto Sanchez's ('24) research project helps communities spot microplastics using Raman Spectroscopy—a laser-based tool that identifies plastic types by their unique molecular “fingerprints" to help communities identify and advocate against growing microplastic pollution threatening ecosystems, food and water.

Service learning with Grizzlies Serve

Grizzlies Serve offers ongoing community engagement and volunteer opportunities that utilize problem-solving techniques and foster dialogue with those most directly affected.
Studying abroad in Thailand was amazing due to the research opportunities and the chance to participate in experimental projects. I also now have a network of international connections with Thai students and their teams.
