Feb. 16, 17 and 18, 12-1:30 p.m. each day: Program Assessment Kickoff
Dr. Tom Lilly, professor of English and assistant provost for Academic Assessment and Accreditation, and Rebecca Cooper, director of Academic Assessment and professor of curriculum and instruction, will discuss the annual program assessment – principles, expectations, deadlines and updates on what program assessment leadership should prepare for and good practices, as well as results from last year’s program assessment. The program is the same each day. Sessions scheduled Feb. 16 and 18 will be held in Building C, Room 2210. The session scheduled Feb. 17 will be held in Building B, Room 3650.
Feb. 24, 12-1 p.m. Teams: Lunch and Learn – NSSE pre/review
This spring, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) is administering the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), a national survey of freshmen and seniors that gathers students perspectives on their experiences at GGC. Dr. Tom Lilly, professor of English and assistant provost for Academic Assessment and Accreditation, will give an overview of the NSSE and discuss some interesting historical findings from GGC’s previous NSSE administrations. GGC seniors report significantly better outcomes on NSSE measures compared with national and comparator institution means.
March 4, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Building C, Room 2110: Incorporating Assessment Practices into Classroom Research
Dr. Lis Javazon, professor of biology and biochemistry and Academic Assessment and Accreditation Fellow, continues her discussion and workshopping of how assessment processes, data and other resources can be used to design compelling, methodical teaching and learning classroom research. Anyone interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning research and publication should attend.

Academic Assessment and Accreditation is excited to announce its first summit on assessment, a day dedicated to reviewing the innovations and data that are driving quality assessment practices and learning outcomes, as well as prospects for the next academic year.
