Biography

Dr. Dale C. Herndon teaches courses in global business and finance. In his global business course, students participate in discussions involving pressing issues around international trade. The global business landscape is constantly evolving, and students will apply critical thinking to explore concepts involving economics and finance, marketing and management, among others, in the international arena. The course is supplemented through assignments, quizzes and a country profile report.

Students get introduced to capital markets, investments and corporate finance in his finance course. Classes consist of engaging discussions on current trends in finance supplemented with weekly chapter assignments and occasional quizzes. Major assessments include three to four problem-based exams and a case study solving real-world scenarios for four fictitious clients.

In all classes, Herndon conveys the information through storytelling, incorporating the significant concepts and essential details through practical, real-world experience.

Herndon grew up in Atlanta, but spent 15 years working on Wall Street with Daiwa Securities America conducting international mergers and acquisitions, and with GE Capital in capital markets. Previously, he worked for PwC as a management consultant. He earned his BBA from Goizueta Business School of Emory University and his Master of Science in Finance and Doctorate of Business Administration from J. Mack Robinson School of Business at Georgia State University. He also graduated from GE Capital’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP), a 2-year international management training program for senior managers.
