Biography

Dr. Daniel Michael Pragel earned his B.S. in mathematics from the University at Albany, State University of New York and his Ph.D. in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology. Prior to joining the faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College, he taught at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and Emory & Henry College.

His research is in the field of combinatorics, and he specializes in the subfields of graph theory and algebraic combinatorics. Having first discovered research mathematics himself as an undergraduate, he is a big proponent of undergraduate research. His goal as a teacher is to share the beauty of mathematics with all who cross his path.

He is originally from Rochester, New York, where he grew up (and still is) an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees.
