Biography

Dr. Justin Jernigan has served as Dean of Student Success and Sr. Associate Vice President in the division of Student Engagement and Success since January 2020. Prior to his current role, he served as Dean of Transitional Studies at GGC. He holds a B.A. in Russian and M.A. in linguistics from the University of Florida. He also received his Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Florida, Program in Linguistics. He earned his Ph.D. in multilingual-multicultural education from Florida State University in 2007. Jernigan has taught English as a second language (ESL) since 1996. He teaches English courses at GGC, where he has been since July 2007.
