Biography

Margaret (Maggie) Schmidt is part-time faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College supporting the School of Science and Technology in physical education, teaching a health and wellness course called Choices for Life. Schmidt holds a dual appointment at the University of Georgia working as a research professional on several grants, including a Center for Excellence grant funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Schmidt is also with the Georgia Home Visiting Program (GHVP), under the Georgia Department of Public Health, supporting the technical assistance team. Schmidt’s own personal and research interests include stress management, self regulation, and overall health and wellness. Schmidt received a Master of Public Health in health promotion and behavior in 2016 from the University of Georgia and is also a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, a national organization for yoga professionals.
