Margaret Schmidt: DIRECTORY

Margaret Schmidt is faculty at Georgia Gwinnett College supporting the School of Health Sciences in public health and patient navigation.

Prior to serving in her current role at GGC, Schmidt held a dual appointment at the University of Georgia working as a research assistant on several grants, including a Center for Excellence P30 funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and a Georgia Home Visiting Program under the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Schmidt's educational background is in public health, health promotion and behavior. Her research focuses on transformative learning and human flourishing. Schmidt is a Certified Health Education Specialist, a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and a mindfulness meditation professional.

Schmidt is currently working on her Doctorate of Education. Her dissertation investigates self-care in the context of student preparedness in healthcare education.
