Dr. Vlad A. Bursuc
Assistant Professor of Legal StudiesDownload vCard
Dr. Vlad Bursuc joined the GGC team in the fall of 2016. He teaches legal studies in the School of Business. Known as Prof. B to his students, his teaching philosophy is that professors need to foster discussion, incentivize participation and use social media to meet students on their own playing field. He believes that students learn best when professors relate student experiences to practical applications of theory, opening the door to engaged interpersonal learning. Bursuc designs his classes around active student participation and engagement with the material in and out of the classroom. He believes this will help students take charge of their emotional intellect, enabling them to see their ideas clearly manifested and adapt them to the rapidly-changing marketplace.
Prior to teaching at GGC, Bursuc worked in Louisville, Kentucky at the corporate counsel’s office for LG&E and KU, LLC, the company that provides electricity and gas to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. While there, he counseled a variety of clients within the corporate structure as he researched issues relating to torts, property, contracts, procedure, securities and administrative law. Before working in-house, Bursuc worked with business clients in Louisville, helping them understand state registration requirements and drafting documents in contract disputes.
Bursuc has also worked with the Office of the Circuit Court Master Commissioner in Louisville where he ensured that the rights of lenders and mortgagors were properly administered throughout the foreclosure process in the aftermath of the 2008 financial collapse. He streamlined the process by assisting in thinning bureaucracy and providing simpler forms for the benefit of all parties regardless of legal sophistication.
Bursuc lives in Atlanta with his wife, Courtney, and their dog, Roxy. In his spare time, Prof. B. enjoys exercising, the outdoors, travel, and exploring new restaurants with friends and family.
