What is Flu?
Influenza (also known as the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can cause serious complications like pneumonia.
Do I Have Cold or Flu?
The common cold and seasonal flu are both caused by viruses, but flu is generally worse than cold and can get you sick up to weeks. Cold symptoms include sore throat, running nose, congestion and cough. Flu symptoms are similar, but further includes high fever, chills, headaches, muscle soreness or body aches, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
Why should you get vaccinated?
§ Protect yourself and the people around you, especially those more vulnerable to serious flu illness such as young children and older people.
§ Exams are approaching, DON’T get sick on exam days!!!
