Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present — aware of your thoughts, feelings and surroundings with openness and curiosity, rather than judgment. Regular mindfulness practice has been shown to:


  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve focus and emotional balance
  • Increase resilience and calm
  • Support better sleep, lower blood pressure and boost immunity

Michael D. Smith, digital learning specialist, will lead each session. He has been guiding mindfulness sessions at GGC’s Center for Teaching Excellence since 2019 and is passionate about helping others cultivate presence, balance and well-being.
