When most people think of branding, they often think only of logos and colors. Brand standards in higher education follow industry best practices. Every institution depends on consistent use of brand to build credibility.

A college’s brand is more than a logo. It represents how an entity presents itself to its audiences — both internally and externally — in writing, speech and digital platforms. Consistency in these areas strengthens a brand’s reputation, reinforces its professionalism and ensures that every interaction reflects the excellence of the institution.

One key element of internal brand compliance is the use of standardized email signatures. At Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC), faculty, staff and student assistants are required to use the approved format, which must include:

  • Sender’s name
  • Title
  • Office phone number (if applicable)
  • Mobile number (if applicable)
  • Email address
  • Georgia Gwinnett College name
  • School, department or unit
  • Campus location
  • School address
  • College website address
  • GGC horizontal logo
  • GGC tagline

To protect the integrity of our brand, the following elements are not permitted in email signatures:

  • Any additional logos, except an official accreditation logo for any of GGC's schools
  • Phrases, quotes or alternative taglines
  • Images, animations or emojis
  • Non-GGC colors

By following these standards, each of us contributes to a consistent, professional and unified GGC identity. Click on the “standardized email signature” link above to create a brand-compliant signature block.

Thank you for your commitment to upholding the college’s brand.
