Managers of the GGC Brand
The GGC Communications department drives the college’s narrative across all platforms. Composed of Public Relations and Digital Communications, our team oversees brand strategy, media relations, internal communications, official publications, marketing initiatives, website management and social media. From shaping the web and print presence to empowering internal audiences, we bring the GGC story to life.
What We Do
Branding
All college communications, including but not limited to, print and digital content/publications, promotional materials, photography/videography, and advertising are under the exclusive control and authority of Communications and shall comply with GGC brand standards, which outline proper usage of logos, colors, styles and trademarks. We provide resources such as GGC’s Graphic Standards Guide, logo tiering strategy, and branded templates to internal departments and external vendors. All external and internal materials are reviewed for brand compliance to preserve consistency, clarity and institutional integrity.
Media Relations
Communications serves as GGC’s official liaison to news media. We manage inquiries, coordinate responses and maintain consistent messaging across media outlets. Our public relations specialists cultivate media relationships and provide strategic guidance to ensure that all external communications align with the institution’s voice and policies. Our PR team also includes their timely press releases on the GGC website for easy access by internal and external stakeholders.
Internal Communications
Communications manages internal messaging tools like the Inside GGC newsletter, which delivers campus news, faculty/staff highlights and event updates. We also author and shape communications for the President’s Office, ensuring clarity, impact and consistency in messaging to faculty, staff and students.
Social Media
Communications centralizes management of GGC’s official social media channels, providing content creation, monitoring and promotional support across platforms. We enforce content and design guidelines to ensure accuracy, accessibility and compliance with brand and media policies. Communications also provides support and instruction to content managers from other GGC departments and student organizations on how to maintain brand consistency on their social media accounts.
Photography
Communications offers professional photography services for campus-wide events that market the college. From major campus events to promotional campaigns, every photo is selected and edited to communicate GGC’s story effectively. Online photo galleries are maintained for easy access by internal and external audiences, supporting marketing and communication efforts throughout the institution.
Graphic Design
We provide professional graphic design services to support internal and external initiatives. From logo designs, event posters and digital graphics to large-scale displays and branded merchandise, every design is created to reflect GGC’s identity and visual standards. Designers work closely with departments to translate ideas into effective, on-brand visuals that communicate clearly and resonate with target audiences. All projects follow GGC’s brand guidelines to ensure consistency, accessibility and visual impact across platforms.
Videography
Communications offers professional videography services to capture and showcase GGC’s story through dynamic, high-quality video content. Our team ensures every project reflects GGC’s brand standards and visual identity. All video content is reviewed for accuracy, accessibility and compliance with brand guidelines to maintain consistency and institutional integrity across platforms.
Marketing
The department spearheads promotional campaigns and event promotion across the college, designing artwork and collateral that reflects GGC’s brand standards. We oversee the approval of branded merchandise and promotional materials, ensuring consistency in logo use, colors and messaging in line with the official brand policy and style guide. Our marketing efforts reach both internal stakeholders and external audiences, maintaining a cohesive, consistent and polished image of GGC in all materials.
Website Management
Digital Communications maintains GGC’s public website using a content management system, reviewing edits submitted by content managers for compliance, quality and adherence to web standards.
Publications
Communications oversees both print and digital publications, including Georgia Gwinnett College Magazine and recruiting materials used by Enrollment Management. We manage editorial services—from drafting to design—to ensure every publication meets GGC standards.
