The Academic Enhancement Center (AEC) team invites faculty and staff to learn about their services and how to help students become more successful in their courses. The team supports learning on campus in the following ways:
Classroom visits
The team is excited to visit classrooms to talk about our services. Please use this form to sign up for a class visit.
Tutoring
The AEC offers the following tutoring services:
- 45-minute, one-on-one appointments with a tutor
- Drop-in tutoring in the AEC and Tutoring Around Campus (located in Disability Services and Veterans Services)
- 24 hours per day, 7 days a week online support offered through Tutor.com, which can be accessed through “Free online tutoring” link in D2L
- Tutors In the Classroom or imbedded tutors who support learning in first year writing courses
Peer Supplemental Instruction
The AEC is also the home of Peer Supplemental Instruction (PSI), which provides structured review sessions to support some of the college’s most difficult courses. For more information about PSI, please see the schedule under the PSI section on the AEC’s webpage.
Academic coaching
Finally, the AEC offers academic coaching, which helps students develop the academic skills necessary to succeed in college. Students can work with academic coaches to improve their time management, learn new study skills and set and achieve academic goals.
Drop-in coaching is also available in Disability Services.
