Dr. Hyesung Park
Associate Professor of Information Technology
Hyesung Park, Ph.D., grew up in Seoul, South Korea where she earned her undergraduate degree in international business from Sookmyung Women’s University and her graduate certificate in management information systems from Korea University. She later went on to receive her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in educational technology and assessment in 2004. After moving to Minnesota, she taught educational technology and assessment courses as an assistant professor and also served as an assistant director of the assessment and institutional research at Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She moved to Lexington, Massachusetts and earned her second master’s degree specializing in information technology from Harvard University in 2011.
Prior to joining Georgia Gwinnett College in Fall 2017, Park taught graduate and undergraduate courses in database design, security system management, software/hardware architecture and web development in Kennesaw State University's information technology department. She also taught undergraduate courses in programming languages in the departments of mathematical, computing and information sciences (Jacksonville State University) and information technology (GGC).
Park has been the recipient of several awards. She has received research awards from Jacksonville State University, the Graduate Student Research Award from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, The 2012 Influential Korean Award from the Korean Society of New England (in Boston, Massachusetts) and the Hybrid Module Project Award (semiconductor division) from Motorola, Korea.
