Georgia Gwinnett College's (GGC) has achieved the highest summer enrollment in its 20-year history.
So far, 5,796 students are enrolled in classes this summer, surpassing last year’s summer enrollment of 5,289 students. The increase of 507 students represents a 9.6% year-over-year, growth setting a new summer enrollment record for the college.
"Our summer enrollment demonstrates that students take advantage of the flexibility our classes offer," said Kimberly Jordan, vice president for Enrollment Management. "Summer courses also allow students to focus on one or two classes at a time. As a bachelor’s degree granting institution, GGC also welcomes students from other institutions to pick up a class or two in the summer."
GGC has seen continued growth in student enrollment, a trend Jordan attributes to several factors.
"Our low tuition and small class sizes mean our students receive personalized attention. They're not just a number," Jordan said. "They also benefit from the student support services we offer, including tutoring, advising and other academic resources."
Summer classes began May 26 and run through July 23.
