New Policy Notice

On July 17, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule to replace duration of status (D/S) admissions with admissions for a fixed end date for F and J visa holders. The new rule and policies will go into effect 60 days from the published date, on September 15, 2026.

International Student and Scholar Services is working with campus partners to develop guidance for the GGC community. As guidance is developed, it will be posted on the International Student and Scholar Services website.
