About
We care deeply about your physical, mental and emotional health, recognizing that success in the classroom is fueled by how well you are supported outside of it.
Guided by the Student Affairs strategic plan, we focus on four key long-term priorities: Student Engagement and Development, Student Health and Well-being, Student Belonging, and Divisional Efficiency and Effectiveness. Informed by the college’s broader vision and operationalized through the division’s mission and strategic focus on student health and well-being, these priorities allow us to utilize the 8 Dimensions of Wellness as a comprehensive framework ensuring we design intentional programming and provide the essential services you need to thrive in all areas of your life.

Physical Wellness
Physical wellness is more than just avoiding illness; it is about actively building a lifestyle where your body can thrive. This involves balancing healthy habits like nutrition and sleep with the avoidance of risky behaviors like substance abuse. Ultimately, it’s about finding the specific routines that fit your unique fitness level and make you feel your best.
Social Wellness
Social wellness centers on building meaningful connections and fostering a deep sense of belonging within your community. It requires an awareness of your own cultural background to better appreciate and respect the diversity of others. By creating inclusive spaces and supportive networks, you contribute to both personal growth and the collective well-being of society.
Emotional Wellness
This dimension involves cultivating self-acceptance and the resilience needed to navigate life's emotional ups and downs. Emotional wellness encourages practicing self-care and empathy while maintaining realistic expectations for yourself and others. Crucially, it includes the strength to develop inner resources and the wisdom to know when to seek external support.
Intellectual Wellness
Intellectual wellness thrives on curiosity and the pursuit of mentally stimulating activities both inside and outside formal education. It focuses on developing the ability to think critically, reason objectively, and explore diverse perspectives. By embracing lifelong learning, you stay open to new ideas and foster a more creative, engaged mind.
Occupational Wellness
Occupational wellness is about finding personal fulfillment and enrichment through work that aligns with your core values and goals. It encourages a proactive approach to career planning and regular reflection on your professional satisfaction. When your occupation matches your lifestyle, it becomes a source of meaning rather than just a task.
Environmental Wellness
Environmental wellness is the practice of living a lifestyle that respects and protects the natural, social, and built spaces around us. It recognizes the reciprocal relationship between our health and the quality of our air, water, and community conditions. By taking responsibility for our surroundings, we ensure a healthier planet and a more supportive environment for everyone.
Spiritual Wellness
Spiritual wellness is the ongoing search for meaning and purpose that aligns with your personal values and beliefs. It transcends specific religious practices, focusing instead on compassion, gratitude, and a sense of harmony with the universe. Integrating these practices allows for a deeper connection between the mind, body, and soul.
Financial Wellness
Financial wellness involves managing your resources effectively to live within your means while preparing for future needs and emergencies. It requires making informed decisions and setting realistic goals based on your unique financial values and circumstances. Developing a healthy relationship with money reduces stress and provides the security needed to focus on other areas of life.
