Dr. Latanya Hammonds-Odie Dr. Latanya Hammonds-Odie

Dr. Latanya Hammonds-Odie, professor of biology, was named a Fellow of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB). As a director for the ASCB's Faculty Research Education Development program, she helps underrepresented postdoctoral scientists and faculty at minority-serving institutions by pairing them with more experienced scientists for mentorship on grant applications.

GGC IT majors receive summer internship stipends

Information technology (IT) majors Ryan Gambrell, '22, Ahkeelah Lindo, '22, and Joseph Ongchangco, '22, received summer internship stipends to work on open source programming projects as part of the Google Summer of Code, a global, online program focused on bringing new contributors into open source software development. Drs. Anca Doloc-Mihu and Cengiz Gunay, both associate professors of IT, collaborated with the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility to create these positions.
