Dr. LaTonya Harris, assistant professor of special education, earned the National Certified Transition Specialist (NCTS) credential — offered by the Division for Career Development and Transition (DCDT) Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Alongside eight other leaders in career development and transition for students with disabilities, Dr. Harris is a member of the first group of education professionals to earn the NCTS credential. The first group of certified professionals was announced at the CEC 2026 Convention and Expo in Salt Lake City, Utah.
