Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) Collegiate DECA earned a silver medal in entrepreneurship operations during its first appearance at the Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference, held April 18–21 in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference brought together more than 1,200 college students from around the world to compete, develop leadership skills and connect with industry professionals. GGC freshman Amari Grant earned top performer recognition and secured the silver medal in entrepreneurship operations while representing GGC alongside sophomore Benjamin Ammessoudji and freshmen Mariana Chavez, Valeria Chavez and Abel Najera. Advisors Dr. Shuaijun Zhang, assistant professor of management, and Gail Rivera, student success advisor, accompanied the team. Additional honors included recognition as a newly chartered DECA chapter, the Individual Leadership Passport Award earned by freshman and chapter president Chase Nelson, and Ammessoudji’s service as a voting delegate for DECA’s 2026-27 executive officer team.
