Dear GGC Community,
Each Tuesday, I use this message to highlight the people, progress and priorities shaping Georgia Gwinnett College. Today, as we build toward the close of what has been an exceptional spring semester thus far, I want to take a moment to pause and simply say thank you.
This is a busy and demanding time in the semester. Across our campus, I see the energy, focus and commitment it takes to keep everything moving forward — in our classrooms, offices and across our community. It is also a time of both high energy and, at times, high stress, and it is important that we take care of ourselves and one another as we navigate these final weeks.
I see faculty continuing to challenge and support our students in meaningful ways. I see staff working behind the scenes to ensure our operations run smoothly and that students have what they need to succeed. I see our students balancing coursework, jobs and responsibilities while continuing to show up and push forward.
That collective effort matters.
As we look ahead, the coming weeks will bring a series of meaningful milestones and celebrations across our campus. I encourage you to participate as your schedules allow:
- End-of-Year Campus Update — April 17
- Senior Sendoff — April 21
- STaRS Conference — April 24
- Donald K. Balfour II Health and Sciences Building Dedication Ceremony — April 27
- CREATES Conference — May 1
- Final Exams — May 6-12
- Commencement — May 15
Each of these moments reflects the work we have done together throughout the year and the impact we continue to make in the lives of our students.
As we move through the remainder of the semester, I encourage each of you to take a moment to recognize the impact of your work — and, when possible, to extend that recognition to those around you. A simple word of appreciation can go a long way.
Thank you for the work you do each day to support our students and advance the mission of Georgia Gwinnett College. I am grateful to be part of this community with you, and I look forward to celebrating these important moments together.
Warm regards,
Dr. Jann L. Joseph
President, Georgia Gwinnett College
