Dear GGC Community,
Each Tuesday, I use this message to highlight the people, progress and priorities shaping Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) and the energy building across our campus.
Last Thursday, as I sat in the stands cheering our Grizzlies to victory alongside members of the GGC and broader community, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride in what our inaugural basketball season has become and the remarkable momentum it is creating for our college.
From Green Out to Grizzlyfest, Area Code Night and Senior Night, this season has been about more than basketball. It has energized our campus and created meaningful engagement across GGC. Our cheerleaders and dance team have elevated the atmosphere at the games, and during Senior Night, we recognized the men’s tennis team for capturing its third straight Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Indoor National Championship — another milestone moment for Grizzly Athletics.
Both our women’s and men’s basketball teams have delivered exceptional first-year performances and enter the Continental Athletic Conference Championships as the No. 1 seed in their respective brackets. Their success has earned GGC the opportunity to host postseason play, bringing heightened visibility and excitement to campus. National attention has followed, including coverage by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Feb. 18, 2026, highlighting the rapid rise of both programs.
Beyond the wins, this season has strengthened school pride, expanded community partnerships and brought new energy to campus life. Rotary Night welcomed regional leaders to experience GGC firsthand, reflecting how athletics is helping elevate awareness of our institution across the region.
If your schedule allows this week, I encourage you to support our student-athletes as they compete in the upcoming tournament, Feb. 26-March 1. To stay up to date with game times, please visit GGCAthletics.com or follow our athletics social media channels.
This inaugural basketball season continues the winning traditions of our baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s soccer teams.
Thank you for the pride and enthusiasm you continue to show. I look forward to cheering on our Grizzlies in the days ahead.
Warm regards,
Dr. Jann L. Joseph
President, Georgia Gwinnett College
