FAFSA Corrections?

Correct your FAFSA using the Data Retrieval Tool.
- Go to FAFSA, select "Make FAFSA Corrections" under the "Returning User?" heading, and log on.
- Navigate to the "Financial Information" section.
- Create a Save Key and click "Next."
- Complete the "Parent Information" section (if applicable).
- If eligible, under the IRS Data Retrieval section, select “mother” or “father” and enter that parent’s FSA ID.
- Select “Link to IRS.”
- Ensure the name listed is exactly as it appears on the tax form.
- Enter the tax filing status and address exactly as it appears on the tax form.
- Click on “Submit.”
- Select “Transfer My Tax Information into the FAFSA” and then click on “Transfer Now.”
- Review the transferred tax information but DO NOT change any of the data listed as "Transferred from the IRS". You will receive a message confirming a successful transfer.
- Complete the "Student Information" section.
- If eligible, select "Link to IRS."
- Ensure the name listed is exactly as it appears on the tax form.
- Enter the tax filing status and address exactly as it appears on the tax form.
- Click on “Submit.”
- Select “Transfer My Tax Information into the FAFSA” and then click on “Transfer Now.”
- Review the transferred tax information but DO NOT change any of the data listed as "Transferred from the IRS". You will receive a message confirming a successful transfer.
- Move to the "Sign and Submit" section, Follow instructions to sign your FSA ID and then hit “submit.”
