Biography
Dr. Bianca L. Singleton is a mid-level higher education practitioner with extensive experience in program leadership, student success strategy, peer educator development and passionate about guiding and supporting students in their academic endeavors. As a team leader, she trains and mentors staff in various aspects of student support, such as course selection, understanding degree/curriculum requirements, academic policies and academic planning. Singleton believes that establishing trustworthy relationships is key to ensuring success in assisting students. When students feel at ease with the student affairs professionals they interact with, they will be more receptive to receiving the personalized attention they need to succeed in school. Singleton has mastered the art of being student-centered, creating outreach events that have strengthened student-staff relationships.
Singleton earned a doctorate in education with a focus on student affairs leadership at the University of Georgia, a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English (with a concentration in creative writing) from Georgia College & State University. Additionally, she holds a Disability Inclusive Mentoring Certification from Partners for Youth with Disabilities.
Beyond her accomplishments in academia, Singleton has established herself as a nonprofit organizational leader, an advocate for youth and women's empowerment, and a tireless advocate for the development and advancement of numerous nonprofit programs. Singleton is a true "servant leader," as evidenced by the establishment of Precious Me Inc. (PMI). This 501(c) (3) partnership program brings together young women, parents and mentors to help teenagers develop greater self-esteem, fundamental relationship skills, a higher education pathway, career/leadership development and a commitment to community advocacy. With the support of other PMI volunteers and Singleton's leadership as executive director, more than 350 young women have had their lives transformed, and that number continues to rise daily.
In addition to her academic pursuits and volunteer work, Singleton is involved in the nonprofit sector as a business management consultant and coach for youth programs nationwide. She collaborates with national and local organizations, including MENTOR Georgia, Leadership Foundations and the Resurgence Leadership Foundation, among others.
