Dr. Darin S. Wilson

Dr. Darin S. Wilson serves as vice president for Advancement and Community Engagement, providing executive leadership across fundraising, alumni relations, government relations, external partnerships, and key areas of campus operations. He works closely with senior leadership to align external engagement, operational effectiveness and resource development with the institution’s mission and strategic priorities, while also helping to expand the college's visibility and partnerships throughout Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County, and Georgia.

With more than 25 years of experience in higher education leadership, Wilson has led complex, cross-functional portfolios that include advancement, campus operations, facilities, government relations and intercollegiate athletics. His responsibilities include optimizing the institution’s physical resources through campus space allocation and management, oversight of the Convocation Center, fleet management, event and scheduling systems, and other campuswide strategic initiatives. He has successfully secured public and private funding and cultivated strong relationships with donors, community leaders and elected officials to support long-term institutional stability and growth.

Wilson leads with a people-first, results-oriented approach grounded in clarity, accountability and execution. Earlier in his career, he served as Georgia Gwinnett College’s inaugural director of athletics, building the department from the ground up. Under his leadership, GGC’s intercollegiate programs achieved unprecedented success, capturing 18 NAIA national championships and 28 conference championships, earning top 10 national rankings across all programs, and compiling more than 1,600 wins with a 77 percent overall winning percentage. The quality of GGC’s athletic facilities enabled the college to host multiple post-season competitions, bringing national visibility and visitors to Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County.

A nationally recognized leader, Wilson is a two-time NAIA National Athletics Director of the Year and a three-time Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year recipient from the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. He has also earned multiple Continental Athletic Conference Athletics Director of the Year honors and has served on numerous NAIA national committees, including the National Administrative Council, Athletics Directors Association Executive Committee, Membership Committee, and was recently inducted into the NAIA's Hall of Fame.
