Biography

Jami Murphy is ecstatic to be a member of the reference and instruction team at the Kaufman Library. After over 15 years in accounting and finance, she is brimming with optimism for this next career chapter. Her favorite quote is "It's never too late to be who you might have been" by the author George Eliot. Murphy believes that this philosophy translates to her desire to assist the students at GGC to realize their own career aspirations.

Murphy's teaching philosophy is to aid students in visualizing the application of classroom theory to real-world experience. She taught QuickBooks accounting software courses to budding entrepreneurs at The Edge Connection, a business incubator formerly located at Kennesaw State University.

When Murphy is not working at the Kaufman Library or studying library and information science and archival studies at Louisiana State University, she is an intern at the Peabody Awards Center and the Brown Media Archives at the University of Georgia where she assists with digital media archiving.
