Biography

Jody-Ann Henry is an actor, author, teaching artist and theatre director. Henry currently serves as the director of theater at Lithonia High School in Atlanta and part-time faculty in the visual and performing arts department at GGC. She recently served as a PLC lead and curriculum writer for the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) Professional Learning Community for Middle School Theatre.

She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a B.A. in theatre and a minor in media studies. Henry also earned her M.F.A. in theatre performance and a graduate certificate in African American theatre from the University of Louisville. Her thesis research "The healing process: finding oneself through character" focuses on an actor's character development process. The exploration and embodiment of a character can become a part of an actor's self-discovery. Her love for the classroom led her to complete her Master's in theatre education at Brenau University. She has a decade of teaching experience and more than 20 years of acting experience.
