The Unified ERP Program team is pleased to introduce Workday Wednesdays, a new monthly series launching this summer to help you build familiarity with Workday well before formal training begins.
What Are Workday Wednesdays?
Workday Wednesdays are monthly, live webinar demonstrations focused on Workday. Sessions are held on the last Wednesday of each month and are designed to walk you through one Workday topic at a time. Each session runs approximately 15 to 20 minutes, with time for questions at the end.
These sessions are not a replacement for formal training. They are an opportunity to get comfortable with Workday gradually, building familiarity and vocabulary leading up to go-live in July 2028.
Who Should Attend?
Workday Wednesdays are open to all impacted end users across our 25 USG institutions and the System Office. Staff, managers, and leadership at any role level are welcome. No prior Workday knowledge or experience is required.
When Are Sessions Held?
Sessions are held live on the last Wednesday of each month. The series launches in July 2026. Each session will also be recorded and made available on the Unified ERP website for anyone who cannot attend live.
How Do I Participate?
To attend, register in advance. Once registered, you will receive a calendar invitation and access details for each session.
After each session, questions can also be submitted through your Institutional OCM Lead. The program team will compile responses and post a Q&A roundup on the Unified ERP website.
Why Should I Participate?
The transition to Workday is one of the most significant operational changes across USG and touches how we manage HR, finance, and core business processes. Workday Wednesdays are a low-pressure way to start learning before the pressure of go-live, one topic at a time.
What's Coming Up?
Here is a preview of our first three sessions:
Month | Topic | What You Will Learn |
July 2026 | Workday 101: What is Workday, how to log in, and navigation basics | What Workday is, how to access it on web and mobile, using the inbox, and understanding notifications |
August 2026 | Supervisory Organizations, Worker Profile, and FDM 101 | What Workday organizations are, how they shape security and access, where to find your worker information, and an introduction to the Foundational Data Model |
Sept. 2026 | FDM 102 | A continuation of FDM 101 |
Topics are subject to change based on program priorities.
