Georgia Gwinnett College Police to host active threat training sessions in July

The Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) Police Department will host several “Active Threat: Run, Hide, Fight” training sessions in Cisco Auditorium on the following dates:
- July 15, 9-10:30 a.m.
- July 16, 1-2:30 p.m.
- Aug. 6, 9-10:30 a.m.
These in-person sessions will cover how to recognize, respond to and survive an active threat situation. The training session is scenario-based and will focus on “Run, Hide, Fight” principles, situational awareness and the importance of a rapid response.
Why is this important?
Unfortunately, active threat situations are a real possibility anywhere, including in the workplace. Knowing how to react decisively in those first moments can save lives. This is part of GGC’s ongoing commitment to campus safety and preparedness.
Who should attend?
Everyone is strongly encouraged to participate. No prior training is required; just bring an open mind and a readiness to learn.
Your safety matters. Let’s be prepared, not just hopeful.
