Faculty and staff who are first-generation college graduates are invited to join an initiative supporting student success and mentorship across campus.

Georgia Gwinnett College’s (GGC) Student Success team is continuing the First-Gen Faculty and Staff Network, an initiative that supports first-generation students by connecting them with faculty and staff who share similar experiences.

In 2021, GGC earned the First-Gen Forward designation, recognizing the college’s commitment to supporting first-generation students — defined as individuals whose parents or legal guardians did not earn a four-year college degree.

The network highlights faculty and staff members who are first-generation college graduates and provides students with visible role models and mentors across campus.

Participants will receive door cards identifying their first-generation status and invitations to participate in first-generation student support initiatives and events.

Faculty and staff who are first-generation college graduates and would like to join the network can complete the First-Gen Network form.
