Student Success and the Center for Teaching Excellence is hosting a hands-on professional development experience, “Designing Powerful Learning Communities,” 10 a.m-2 p.m. Friday, May 8, in the Student Center, LVIS.
Learning communities have long been a part of Georgia Gwinnett College's (GGC) academic experience. This fall, they grow with expanded cohorts and the GGC-1000 First-Year Seminar at the center!
Register to participate in a focused, collaborative day where you can explore what makes learning communities a high-impact practice and design meaningful integrated experiences for your students.
What you will do:
- Explore the research on why learning communities improve student engagement, belonging and persistence
- Connect with your learning community (LC) team to identify shared themes across your courses
- Design at least three integrated learning activities ready to use in fall 2026
- Leave with a complete LC integration blueprint — a plan your team builds together
Lunch is included.
