Information Technology (IT) will begin upgrading Georgia Gwinnett College-managed desktop computers to Windows 11, beginning Saturday, Sept. 13. This upgrade ensures that all computers remain supported and secure as Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 in October 2025.
Desktop computers will be upgraded using the wired network with no need to bring the computer to the Helpdesk. The upgrades will take place over the weekend to minimize disruption. To prepare for this upgrade, please:
Leave your desktop computer powered on before leaving for the weekend.
Back up your files to OneDrive to ensure they are available after the upgrade.
For instructions on backing up files, review the OneDrive support page. IT will notify you if additional steps are needed following the upgrade.
