A woman had collapsed near the swimming pool, and the employee knew Still was a first responder. Still, a Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) police officer, rushed from the weight room to the indoor swimming pool area. She knew what was wrong the second she laid eyes on the unconscious woman.

Georgia Gwinnett College goes on lockdown due to off-campus shooting
At 10:39 a.m., Jan. 28, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) sent notice to the campus community of an active threat near campus and went into soft lockdown, requiring staff, faculty and students to remain inside building and take cover. Gwinnett County law enforcement advised there was a shooting at Sugar Mill Apartments, located nearby, but not on GGC’s campus. The suspect is described as a black male in a white t-shirt and dirty sweatpants. The suspect, who fled the scene, was being tracked by law enforcement.
Georgia Gwinnett College begins first semester of 2021
With safety top of mind, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) students returned to class today to begin the spring semester. GGC President Jann L. Joseph said the college will continue with the hybrid model through which students attend class in person and online on designated days. This social-distancing model was implemented during the fall 2020 semester. Joseph also reminded the campus community of GGC’s continued COVID-19 prevention measures.
