The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) office is proud to announce the launch of its new EHS webpage, Georgia Gwinnett Colleges (GGC) central resource for campus safety, environmental compliance and emergency preparedness.

Who is the webpage for?

The EHS webpage is designed to serve the entire GGC community, including faculty, staff, students, student workers and laboratory personnel, campus collaborators and contractors. Whether you work in a lab, plan events, manage a department or simply navigate campus life, this site provides the tools and information needed to stay safe and compliant.

What is the goal of the webpage?

The EHS webpage serves as a one-stop hub to promote a safe and healthy campus environment, provide clear guidance on safety policies and procedures, support compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, and empower the campus community to recognize and report risks.

Important features you should know

Report injuries and hazards or requesting permits

At the homepage, next to the “In an Emergency” section, you will find a direct link to report:

  • Injuries
  • Hazards
  • Permit requests

All injuries occurring on campus must be reported using this link. Employees or their supervisors must call Human Resources as soon as they are injured in addition to completing a report. This feature ensures concerns are quickly routed and addressed.

What else you will find on the webpage

The site offers a wide range of resources, including:

  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS): A link to SDS is located at the bottom of the EHS webpage and on the reporting and permits page, providing quick access to critical chemical safety information. Anyone can access this information. This allows EHS to provide timely information to faculty, staff, students and emergency responders.

Access to additional resources

By logging into the GGC SharePoint through the webpage, users can access department-specific safety resources, program documentation and templates, and inspection checklists.

  • Safety programs and procedures
  • Emergency preparedness guidance
  • Training information and requirements
  • Laboratory and chemical safety resources
  • Environmental compliance information

Safety is a shared responsibility

The EHS team encourages everyone to explore the new webpage and make it part of your routine campus experience.
