After receiving feedback from students, faculty and staff, Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) has revised its Grizzly Image Use Guide to strengthen brand consistency and clarify how bear, paw and claw graphics should be used in campus materials. The update introduces new elements and revised restrictions to ensure proper representation of mascot-related imagery.
What’s new in the guide:
- General’s Paw added: A new decorative paw graphic is now available for use in designs, but it cannot serve as a logo, watermark or primary identifier. Official versions of General’s Paw are located in our mascot downloadable gallery.
- Mascot image sourcing clarified: Official photos and illustrations of General must come from the mascot downloadable gallery on Communication’s webpage; other bear graphics are prohibited.
- G-Claw approval reinforced: The G-Claw is owned by Athletics. Use of the G-Claw still requires written approval from GGC Athletics before production or publication.
- Forward-facing bear head logo usage update: The forward-facing bear head is still owned by GGC Athletics but is now available for non-athletic departments to use for marketing, promotional and spirit-related materials as outlined in the Grizzly Image Use Guide.
GGC has also refreshed all downloadable image galleries on the Communications webpage. The updated collections feature high-quality recent photos from all around campus. Students, faculty and staff may use these images for their college-related design and media needs. We have included many new images of General, our mascot, to help showcase Grizzly pride in campus communications.
Please review the Grizzly Image Use Guide carefully for more extensive explanations on each graphic element. Reach out to Jennifer LaRose, senior marketing specialist, with any questions.
