Grizzly Orientation
Everything you need to successfully start your GGC story begins with Grizzly Orientation!
What is Grizzly Orientation?
Grizzly Orientation (GO) is a mandatory experience for all incoming students to ensure a smooth transition as you join the Grizzly family at Georgia Gwinnett College. This experience is carefully and intentionally curated to equip you with information, tools and resources necessary to start your college journey on the right foot (or Grizzly paw).
Deadlines and Attendance Requirements
Freshmen (Fall 2026 and beyond)
Your first semester courses will be pre-registered by an advisor prior to your selected orientation. Register for Grizzly Orientation as soon as possible to coordinate course selections with the Student Success Advising Center.
Important: Failure to attend your Grizzly Orientation may result in your courses being dropped – requiring you to restart the selection process and potentially losing your preferred course schedule and modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid).
Transfer Students (Fall 2026 and beyond)
Transfer students have the option to complete online self-paced modules at their leisure. Upon completion confirmation, New Student Connections will remove your Grizzly Orientation hold within 48-72 business hours. You may then register for your first semester as soon as the course registration period opens.
- Fall semester students: May – August
- Spring semester students: November – January
- Summer semester students: April – May
Students starting classes in Summer 2026 will register for courses at their orientation, so register as soon as possible for a better chance of getting your preferred class times.
If your student admission type is listed below, you must complete Grizzly Orientation to enroll in, and keep, classes.
