Grizzly Move In / Move Out Guide

move in day with the help of parents and GGC faculty and staff

Move-in Process

Move-in day brings you and approximately a thousand of your soon-to-be friends to campus. Together with your help, we'll coordinate the chaos to create a hassle-free move-in experience.

Expectations and Tips to Prepare

  • Assigned check-in schedules are strictly enforced.
  • Moving in early or shipping items to campus prior to arrival are not allowed.
  • Monitor Claw Mail for your move-in day scheduling and instructions.
  • Elevators are available in all buildings.
  • Prepare your Grizzly move with the off-to-college checklists (PDF) of suggested items to bring and items not allowed.
  • Students must be paid in full each semester – tuition, housing fees and meal plan – to gain access to housing and rooms.
  • If using, the Nelnet Payment Plan takes up to 72 business hours to show on your student account. Your balance must show $0 to move in.

You'll be assigned a Fall move-in date and time (between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.) before the first day of class. Keys are not issued on the weekends. View upcoming dates on the Housing Application Portal and academic calendar.

All student residents must leave student housing by 12 p.m. at the conclusion of fall final exams. Find final exam dates on the academic calendar.

Returning for Spring Semester

  • Do not move out your belongings or return your key.
  • Move personal belongings from common areas to your bedroom and lock the bedroom door.
