Georgia Gwinnett College will be closed Saturday, Jan. 31 and Sunday, Feb. 1 due to inclement weather.

All scheduled in-person classes will be held online. Courses with required in-person components (such as labs or studios) may follow alternate arrangements as determined by the instructor. Students should check MyCourses and their GGC email for guidance from their faculty.

The second-year experience pathway to success checklist offers recommendations to help you navigate your second year at GGC. Review and integrate them into your personal and academic decisions and goals.

Choose a Path

Declare your major and any degree-enhancing options, such as a minor or certificate.
Contact Career Services to begin actively pursuing internship opportunities related to your academic and career goals.
Pursue a study abroad opportunity.

Discover Your Options

Schedule an appointment with your faculty mentor to review and prepare any application(s) associated with your major.
Attend a study abroad fair. Find dates and times on the GGC events calendar and learn more about study abroad opportunities.
Determine ways to gain career-related experiences: internships, undergraduate research, shadow professionals, part-time jobs and volunteering.
Participate in service learning.
Explore graduate education. Career Services can help.

Get More Involved

Get involved in community engagement and student organizations (RSOs), such as Greenlight Activities Board.
Attend student conferences.
Look for leadership and service opportunities.
Run for student government (SGA).
Attend a GGC athletic event or participate in intramural sports.
Nominate yourself to participate in the Student Advisory Group for Excellence, a campuswide group of students who provide valuable input to continually improve Student Success services.

Get Support

Consider Student Success academic coaching, tutoring and student success workshops available from the Academic Enhancement Center.
Get mental health support from the Counseling and Psychology Services: in person and 24/7 BeWell@GGC.
Reach out for emergency assistance programs, such as Grizzlies helping Grizzlies and the GGC Care Pantry.
Take advantage of the Wellness and Recreation Center to stay active for your wellbeing.
